The tribes arrive by boat and assemble on the beach.
After Probst greets them, they must each select a
leader (Brendan, Chris), who must then pick someone to
run an obstacle course (Michael, Sebastian) and dig up
three keys, then another person (Laurel, Desiree) who
will use those keys to unlock and solve a 4x4 slide
puzzle. Once the puzzle stage starts, Probst starts a
sand timer, and the chief must then decide (before the
sand runs out) whether to give up on the challenge,
preserving their fishing gear, while giving the
winning tribe a larger reward. As time runs out, Chris
pulls the lever, giving Malolo the win. Malolo wins an
extensive tool kit, fishing gear, eggs.
Contestants must race across a net bridge, then lift
two people to retrieve two bags of ropes (Morgan,
Chelsea; Libby, Donathan), use the ropes to drag a
sled full of three heavy puzzle pieces, haul the sled
back, reload it, haul it, then four people (Wendell,
Bradley, Dom, Kellyn; Michael, Jacob, Laurel, James)
use the six puzzle pieces to solve a cube puzzle.
Losing tribe sends someone to Ghost Island. Naviti
first to hauling. Maolo's pieces fall out mid-haul.
Naviti wins, chooses Jacob to send to Ghost Island.
Sent to Ghost Island by Naviti, Jacob decides to play
the Ghost Island game, picking one of two random
bamboo cases. If he's wrong, he will be unable to vote
at the next Tribal Council he attends. Luckily, he
guesses right (er, left), and finds Sierra/Sarah's
Legacy Advantage from Game Changers. Unluckily, not
only does it not work until Final 13/Final 6, but he's
forced to give it to someone on the other tribe. He
picks Morgan.
After searching in the middle of the night at Naviti
camp, Domenick reaches into a tree (in complete
darkness), and finds Naviti's hidden idol. The next
morning, he opens it to discover it's Andrea's unused
idol from the post-merge in Caramoan.
Two contestants (Michael, Libby; Morgan, Bradley)
must jump off a dock, climb and slide down a slide,
cross a tipping net, then dive down and release a set
of buoys. Then a second pair (Chelsea, Seb; Donathan,
James) repeats the feat. One person (Chris; Stephanie)
must then cross the course and move all the marked
buoys to the dock. Finally, two people from each tribe
(Wendell, Desiree; ) must shoot all 8 marked buoys
into a basket. James can't dive, Donathan resists
trying, but eventually succeeds. Naviti has 7 before
Malolo even shoots, wins. They send Donathan to Ghost .
Ep2 RC/IC: "Coming Up for Air" - Naviti
wins, Donathan sent to GI.
TC2 - Jacob voted out (5-2-1), 18 left.
Ep3: "Only Time
Will Tell"
Ep4: "Trust
Your Gut"
Ep5: "Diamond in the Rough"
Day 7
(June 11)
Ep.3 tribal swap
The tribes assemble, are rejoined by Donathan, then
are told to drop their buffs. They receive packaged
new buffs, and open en masse, revealing two new tribes
of nine: Malolo (Bradley, Brendan, Chelsea, Desiree,
Jenna, Kellyn, Michael, Sebastian, Stephanie) and
Naviti (Angela, Chris, Domenick, Donathan, James,
Laurel, Libby, Morgan, Wendell).
Faced with a 5-4 majority of old Naviti on their
swapped tribe, the original Malolos all search for
idols. Eventually, Michael finds one (with Brendan).
It turns out to be one of the one James Clement had in
his bag when he was voted out in Survivor: China.
Contestants must cross "land lilies," dig a ladder up
from a sand pit, then one person (Chelsea, Donathan)
must climb the ladder to release a "monkey's fist."
One other person must swing the monkey's fist and hook
it in a target, then use the rope to climb up a Batman
wall. Then go up another wall just using their bodies.
Finally, two people (Wendell, Laurel; Bradley, Kellyn)
must assemble a tiki head puzzle. Bradley and Kellyn
take a huge lead on the puzzle; Malolo wins immunity
and a large tarp! Unable to decide on a ghost, Naviti
draws rocks, Chris goes. Once there, he's unable to
play a game.
Ep3 RC/IC: "All Along the Watchtower" - Malolo
wins, Chris sent to GI.
TC3 - Morgan voted out (4-3-1), 17 left.
Day 10
(June 14)
Ep.4 RC: Water Slaughter
Chelsea sits out. As in Caramoan, MvGX, pairs of
contestants wade through water to grab a life
preserver, try to bring it back and touch their tribe
pole, while their opponents try to stop them. Rd.1:
Michael, Brendan vs. Chris, Wendell - Chris &
Wendell pass & score. Rd.2: Laurel, Angela vs.
Kellyn, Jenna - Laurel gets ring, powers her way to
pole, with Angela's help. Rd.3: Sebastian, Bradley vs.
James, Domenick - Seb gets ring, passes to Bradley,
eventually Bradley scores. Rd.4: Desiree, Stephanie
vs. Libby, Laurel - eventually, Libby scores, Naviti
wins, 3-1. (Note: Final score was actually 4-2, just
edited down for TV.) Malolo draws rocks for GI. Kellyn
draws the white rock. Naviti wins a PB&J feast.
Ep4 RC: "Water Slaughter" - Naviti
wins, Kellyn sent to GI.
Day 11
(June 15)
Kellyn returns from GI (not shown).
Day 12
(June 16)
Ep.4 IC: Cell Block Sea
Desiree sits out. As in Caramoan: Team must swim out
to a cage, climb over and into it, release a gate,
haul a heavy crate onto the beach, then drag it along
a track, while hooking a piece of track with a rope
and pulling it into place to complete the path. Then
open the crate and place the 5 balls in it onto a high
ledge (as in MvGX). Malolo has a huge lead, Sebastian
places 3 balls, Brendan knocks one off. But Naviti
catches up, with Chris and Wendell shooting, and ties
it 4-4. Sebastian and Chris are firing shot after
shot, and eventually, Naviti wins.
The entire tribe must cross a series of obstacles,
then two people (Michael, Bradley; James, Domenick)
move large sandbags to reveal a lever, which when
pulled drops 60 smaller sandbags. The tribes toss them
forward while two people (Stephanie, Jenna; Wendell,
Chris) gather these and put them in a basket. One
person (Sebastian; Chris) then tosses the small
sandbags at 3 spinning windmills, each of which, when
spun all the way down, will release a flag. Chris
easily beats Seb, Naviti wins coffee and pastries.
Malolo draws rocks, Stephanie goes to Ghost Island.
Ep5 RC: "Rod Screw-It" - Naviti
wins, Stephanie sent to GI.
Ep5: "Diamond in the Rough"
Ep6: "Fate is
the Homie"
Ep7: "Gotta
Risk It for the Biscuit"
Ep8: "Fear Keeps You Sharp"
Day 14
(June 18)
Ep.5 IC: Hitch a Ride
As (mostly) in South Pacific. One at a time,
contestants (Desiree, Chelsea; Wendell, Libby) must
run out, grab a boogie board (attached to a rope), run
across a floating platform, then grab a sack with a
number tile. Then four tribe members (Domenick, James,
Chris, Laurel; Jenna, Steph, Seb, Michael) will turn a
giant crank to pull the rope, boogie board, and
contestant back in to the beach. Repeat for three
tiles (Wendell and Chelsea run twice). Then two people
(James, Domenick; Kellyn, Bradley) use the tiles to
solve a combo lock, then unlock and solve a linear
slide puzzle (that spells GHOST ISLAND when solved).
Naviti takes a lead in the water, wins.
The tribes arrive at the site of a two-team
(orange/purple) challenge, but are told to drop their
buffs. They draw new buffs from a single tray, and
discover they are now three new tribes of five people
each: Yanuya (green) - Sebastian, Jenna, Wendell,
Laurel, and Chris; Malolo - Angela, Desiree, Kellyn,
James, Michael; Naviti - Bradley, Chelsea, Domenick,
Donathan, Libby.
Each tribe has one sighted caller (Desiree, Domenick,
Wendell) directing two pairs of blindfolded
contestants (James-Michael, Angela-Kellyn;
Chelsea-Donathan, Bradley-Libby; Laurel-Jenna,
Chris-Sebastian). The pairs must collect three bags of
puzzle pieces, strewn among various obstacles such as
one that requires digging in sawdust, unscrewing a
handle, etc. Malolo takes a huge lead entering the
puzzle, while Wendell forgets a bag, making Yanuya
start last. Callers then guide two blindfolded people
to solve the puzzle. Yanuya wins, Naviti second,
Malolo third.
The morning after James's boot, Michael redoubles his
idol-finding efforts, and eventually finds the Malolo
idol: It's the fake idol ("Just a f***ing stick!" that
Ozzy made in Micronesia, which is now a
functioning, regular, hidden immunity idol.
Domenick, Laurel sit out. As seen in HvHvH. Four
people must pull ropes to balance a disc, then stack
blocks on it to spell "Reward" (flanked by Ghost
Island logos). Winner gets steaks, chicken kabobs, a
grill, and spices; second place gets chicken kabobs.
Naviti wins, Yanuya second. Malolo a very distant
third. Naviti unanimously selects Kellyn to send to
GI. While at Ghost Island, Kellyn plays the game, and
with 2-in-3 odds, selects a winning bamboo. She wins
the extra vote Sarah used to vote out Michaela in Game
Changers.
Ep7 RC: "Discy Business" - Naviti
wins, Yanuya 2nd. Kellyn
sent to GI (wins extra vote).
Ep.7 Yanuya idol
While his tribemates doze after feasting on kabobs,
Wendell scours the camp for an idol, and finds an idol
clue. It directs him to dig near a specific tree,
which is necessary because Wendell's idol turns out to
be the necklace Erik Reichenbach gave away in Micronesia.
Jenna, Chelsea sit out. As seen in San Juan del
Sur. One at a time, contestants must dive off a
dock, climb a ramp and jump over it to retrieve one of
two sets of three rings, then return to the dock. When
all both sets are retrieved, all four people then
re-cross the course and proceed to a final dock where
1-2 people (Chris, Wendell; Donathan; Desiree,
Michael) toss the six rings onto a target. Wendell
wins it for Yanuya, Malolo and Naviti tied, 5-5.
Michael secures second for Malolo.
The other two tribes are sent to the luxurious
accommodations at the Naviti camp. There, they learn a
feast is waiting for them on the other side of the
island, and that they have merged. Unbeknownst to
them, one of the new buffs at the table contains a
message that a secret awaits at treemail, and Chris
gets it. At some point they name themselves Lavita
(not shown).
Chris follows his clue to treemail, which tells him
to sneak away from camp at night, in order to get an
idol at Ghost Island. He does so, and it's JT's unused
idol from Game Changers. But now it's only usable at
the next Tribal. Chris then has the opportunity to
extend his idol's effectiveness by playing the two
tube guessing game, with 5 possible rounds. He plays
once, wins, then plays again and loses. His idol now
works at the next two Tribals, but he can't vote at
the merge Tribal.
Contestants must hold a pole (that resembles a boom
mic) with a statuette on the end, while standing on a
narrow perch. At 5-minute intervals, they must move up
to the next, narrower, stretch of perch, without
dropping the statue. Last to drop out wins. First
section (5 min.) 13. Jenna, 12. Donathan, 11. Desiree,
10. Angela all out. Second section (5 more min.) 9.
Sebastian out. Last section (Over 20 minutes in) 8.
Domenick (on transition), 7. Michael (on transition),
6. Chris (on transition), 5. Laurel (on transition),
4. Wendell (on transition), 3. Chelsea, 2. Libby, 1.
Kellyn wins!
Two teams of six, divided by an unshown schoolyard
pick: Purple (Wendell, Angela, Donathan, Laurel,
Chelsea, Libby), and Orange (Domenick, Sebastian,
Jenna, Kellyn, Michael, Desiree). Each team starts on
a platform in the ocean. One at a time, a contestant
runs across a floating platform to the beach, where
they shoot sandbags with a slingshot, trying to knock
off targets on a beam over the water. If they knock
one over (or give up), they then have to run back to
the platform to switch out. First team to knock over
all six targets wins. Dom and Wendell run first,
Wendell-1; Dom-1; Laurel-1; Seb-out; Michael-1;
Chelsea-out; Kellyn-out; Libby-out; Wendell-2;
Des-out; Laurel-2; Jenna-out; Dom-2; Wendell-3;
Michael-2; Wendell-4. Purple wins, 6-4! Orange draws
rocks: Jenna goes to GI. Purple gets taco overload
reward.
Ep9 RC: "Gone Shootin'" - Purple
team wins; Jenna sent to GI.
Day 24
(June 28)
Day 25
(June 29)
Ep.9 IC: Fijian Feast
Traditional gross food challenge, as in Caramoan.
First round is performed in two heats of six people,
first three in each advance. Round 1a (fish eyeballs):
Michael, Desiree, Laurel advance (Libby just misses);
Round 1b: Angela, Sebastian, Domenick advance (Kellyn
just misses). Round 2 (three beetle larvae):
Sebastian, Michael, Angela advance. Round 3 (two sea
slugs): Michael, Angela advance. Round 4 (Mother of
pearl meat): Angela wins!
Two teams of five: Orange (Michael, Chelsea, Kellyn,
Jenna, Sebastian) and Purple (Wendell, Domenick,
Laurel, Desiree, Angela). Donathan not chosen, can
neither get reward, nor be sent to Ghost Island. Two
people (Michael, Seb; Wendell, Domenick) paddle a boat
to rescue three teammates trapped in cages on floating
platforms. When they reach the shore, they use their
keys to unlock a net and uncover large puzzle pieces.
They take these (and two extra pieces) to a puzzle
platform, and solve a large logo puzzle. Orange team
takes a huge lead on the boating portion, wins a
helicopter picnic. Purple draws rocks, Angela is sent
to Ghost Island. There, she plays the game, but loses
(her vote at the next Tribal).
Donathan and Michael search for idols, and Donathan
finds one. It's Scot Pollard's idol from Kaoh Rong.
Now it has no powers on its own, unless he can
retrieve the other half (Tai's idol). It's hidden
under the shelter. Donathan attempts to do this alone,
but eventually enlists the other Malolos. He
successfully grabs it with Michael and Laurel's
assistance, completing the idol, which is now a normal
idol.
As first seen in San Juan del Sur. Contestants must
use two ropes suspending a disc to keep a ball from
rolling off. At 10-minute intervals, they move back
one set of knots, making the task more difficult.
Order of elimination: 11. Wendell, 10. Jenna, 9.
Desiree, 8. Laurel, 7. Angela (all five in under a
minute), 6. Donathan, 5. Domenick (2 minutes), 4.
Michael. 10 minutes: 3. Kellyn, 2. Sebastian, 1.
Chelsea wins!
Domenick finds a coconut with a (black) tribal mark
on it, which he immediately pegs as a potential idol.
When he opens it, he discovers it's David Wright's
fake idol from MvGX, and... it's still a fake idol.
But he stashes the coconut holder for safe keeping
(and future fake idol-hiding mischief), and now has a
fake fake idol, a real fake idol, and a real idol.
Two randomly drawn teams, from each of which one
person will win immunity. And each will attend Tribal
Council: Orange - Kellyn, Michael, Laurel, Dom,
Wendell; Purple - Donathan, Sebastian, Jenna, Chelsea,
Angela. Contestants must stand on a box, and pull up
on a waist-high bar, clamping a ball (overhead)
between two metal racks. If they release the pressure
on the handle, the ball drops, eliminating them. Last
person standing for each tribe wins immuntiy. Last
person overall wins chance to attend Tribal last.
Order of elimination: 10. Kellyn (orange), 9. Michael
(o), 8. Donathan (purple), 7. Laurel (o), 6. Sebastian
(p), 5. Jenna (p), (15 min.) 4. Angela (p), 3. Chelsea
wins for purple!, (30 min.) 2. Wendell eventually
drops, 1. Dom wins for orange.
TC12 - Michael voted out (2-2-1-1;
[3-0]), 8 left.
Day 30
(July 4)
Day 31
(July 5)
Ep.12 RC: A Quick Affair
Loved ones: Wendell's dad, Wendell Sr.; Kellyn's
brother, Clay; Donathan's aunt, Patty; Angela's
daughter, Paige; Chelsea's sister, Sydney; Laurel's
brother, Frank; Sebastian's sister, Grace; Domenick's
wife, Kristin. Challenge: Cross a blance beam, pick up
a sandbag, go over obstacle, dig under a log, toss one
sandbag onto a platform. Sebastian has a huge lead,
makes a lot of tosses. Eventually Domenick catches up,
but Seb wins. He picks Dom, Wendell, Donathan to join
him. Wendell volunteers to go to Ghost Island for a
guaranteed advantage.
Ep12 RC: (Loved ones) "A Quick Affair" -
Sebastian wins.
Ep.12 advantage
After volunteering to go to Ghost Island for a
guaranteed advantage, Wendell finds it's Malcolm
extra-try advantage from the final IC in Philippines.
Spoiler alert: It works just as poorly as Malcolm's
did.
Wendell has advantage from Ghost Island. He's able to
drop once and re-start. Start with 3 sections, 10
minutes per round. Elimination order: 8. Kellyn. Rd.2
- 7. Angela, 6. Wendell (uses his advantage), 6.
Wendell again. Rd.3 - 5. Sebastian, 4. Laurel, 3.
Chelsea, 2. Donathan, 1. Domenick wins!
Challenge run in three pairs; Angela unpicked, forced
to sit out, ineligible for reward or Ghost Island.
Contestants must place a spool on a huge, three-level
track, catch it when it reaches the bottom, then take
it back up to the top to start again. At regular
intervals, additional spools are added. If a spool
hits the ground, the pair is eliminated. Last pair
wins ambassador trip to local school. Teams: Orange -
Kellyn-C, Sebqstain; Purple - Wendell-C, Domenick;
Green - Donathan-C, Laurel. Results: All get to five
spools, then Sebastian drops one, then Laurel. Dom and
Wendell win! They pick Laurel to join them, send "the
pirate" (Sebastian) to Ghost Island.
Ep13 RC: "Always on the Run" -
Domenick and Wendell win.
Ep.13 advantage
Sebastian goes to Ghost Island, where he's able to
play the game, and it now has 3-in-4 chances of
winning. He wins, and his prize is Kellyn's extra vote
advantage (still presented as "Michaela's advantage,"
even though it was Sarah's), which she used just 4
days earlier.
Contestants must assemble a bridge puzzle, then cross
it. Then assemble a ladder puzzle, climb it. Then work
a slide puzzle. Wendell is first to the slide puzzle,
and finishes first, but he forgets to call Probst
over. Laurel then finishes a few seconds later, calls
over Probst, and gets the win. Wendell recognizes his
error, accepts the result. Kellyn was just reaching
the top platform when Wendell finished, Angela still
working on the ladder puzzle. 1. Laurel, 2. Wendell,
3-t. Sebastian, Domenick, Donathan, 6. Kellyn, 7.
Angela.
The challenge takes place within a giant maze in
shape of a skull. Contestants must run into the maze
and collect three bags of puzzle pieces, then complete
a large puzzle. Order in which contestants collect
their bags: Sebastian, Wendell, Laurel, Angela,
Domenick. Everyone is working on puzzles when Donathan
finally gets third bag. Wendell, Dom in lead. Wendell
wins! He picks Sebastian, Angela to join him for steak
dinner in camp.
Contestants must swim out to a platform, climb a
ladder, slide down a slide, go to shore, climb under
and over obstacles, while collecting two puzzle bags.
Then, they must complete a 4-piece pyramid puzzle.
Wendell wins again!
As seen in the final challenge in Kaoh Rong.
Contestants must stack a set of balls and discs, using
a metal prong to carry and stack each ball and disc.
Wendell almost wins, but his stack drops right as he's
about to place his final ball. Eventually, Dom wins
instead.
TC17 - Wendell wins,
Angela out via fire-making, 3 left.
Day 39
(July 13)
Final Tribal Council
The 10-person jury questions Laurel, Domenick, and
Wendell about their respective games. They then vote.
Probst retrieves the urn, then proceeds to shock
everyone by reading the votes aloud, immediately. He
reveals the jury has created a 5-5 tie for the win
between Domenick and Wendell. As the third-place
finisher (with zero votes), Laurel becomes the final
juror, and casts the deciding vote. This vote is kept
secret until the reunion, where Probst reveals Wendell
has won, 5-5-0 (1-0).
