hitching posts, then dig up three bags of puzzle
pieces from a sand pit. They then take the three
bags to the three puzzle people (Bob, Sugar, Paloma;
Randy, Susie, Gillian). Kota takes a huge lead in
the digging phase, gets their third bag before Fang
even has one. Kota completes their puzzle just as
Fang finally arrives with their bags. Kota wins
immunity and flint.
Paloma sits out. Challenge: as seen in Africa
(more or less). Both tribes must roll a large
"boulder" through a series of gates, and must
retrieve two keys along the way, to open a final

Kota. A pair of contestants from one tribe must pull
an opposing contestant off of a pole, through the
sand, and across a finish line to score a point.

Ep.3 idol: Sugar
Sugar arrives at Exile, and chooses the idol clue
option. She quickly solves the one that stumped Dan,
but it turns out the idol is not in the sandy
crater, that's just another clue. She ends up
following three more clues total, eventually
grabbing the idol.
Paloma, Sugar sit out. Six tribe members must slide
down a water slide, go out in the water to retrieve
a number tile, and run it back up the hill to the
combo lock/crate. One person (Bob, Ken) must use the
tiles to solve a combo lock, unlock a crate,
retrieve an axe, and chop a rope to raise the tribe
flag. Kota is first to retrieve all their number
tiles, but Ken solves the combo faster than Bob,
giving Fang the win.
Contestants are given pads to write on, and told to
rank their tribemates from first to last. Probst
then averages the rankings, and everyone stands on
poles from #1 to #8, in view of the other tribe.
Orders: Fang - 1. Matty, 2. Dan, 3. Randy, 4.
Crystal, 5. Ken, 6. GC, 7. Susie; Kota - 1. Marcus,

now picking new tribes. Matty and Marcus remain with
their original tribes, and lead off a new chain
pick.
Each contestant has an inner tube-sized "raft," and
a paddle that doubles as a lacrosse stick. They must
race in the water to the ball, pass it to each
other, and try to score a goal. First tribe to three
points wins. Ace, Bob play goalkeeper for the first
point. Results: Marcus passes to Randy, Randy
scores! (K1, F0). Marcus passes to Randy again, this
time with no keeper, Randy scores again! (K2, F0).
Matty in as keeper, Randy shoots, misses. Dan
shoots, misses. Randy shoots again, scores. Kota
wins, 3-0!

walls, without dropping the fruit. The opposing
tribe has one person at each wall (Crystal, Ace;

their positioning. Tribe with the most points after

Corinne sits out. A dry-land Hot Pursuit. Each
tribe is tethered to a 20-foot-long, 200-lb snake.
They must chase the other tribe around an oval track
until they catch them. People can drop out, but that
leaves more weight for the remaining people to
carry. Results: Fang dragging early, Sugar and Ken
drop out, then Kelly. Susie drops out for Kota.
Crystal then drops, leaving just Ace and Matty
carrying Fang's snake, vs. five Kota guys. Kota wins
easily. They get coffee, tea, and pastries, and

Then they must assemble and raise the flag. Results:

make up ground, and Matty/Ken pass Kota. But on the
puzzle, Ace takes over, refuses to let others help,
and completely blows it. Kota wins.
Corinne, Charlie sit out. Side by side, each tribe
tries to play keep away, tossing a breakable ball
among three tribe members, while one member of the
other tribe attacks, and tries to smash the ball on
the ground. First attacker to do so scores a point.
First tribe to three points wins a getaway picnic
reward. Rd. 1: Attackers - Ace, Randy. Randy tackles
Ken, Kota scores (1-0). Rd. 2: Attackers - Bob,
Sugar. Bob blocks Ace's throw, Kota scores (2-0).
Rd. 3: Attackers - Dan, Matty. Dan blocks Ace's
throw, Kota wins, 3-0.
It's a log roll, but instead of tribal immunity,
it's for individual immunity, and each tribe must
(separately) attend Tribal Council and vote someone
out. Rd.1: Ace d. Dan; Charlie d. Crystal; Marcus d.
Matty; Randy d. Susie; Sugar d. Kenny; Bob d.
Corinne. Rd.2: Ace d. Charlie (close), Marcus d.
Randy, Sugar d. Bob. Rd.3: 3.Sugar, 2.Ace, 1.Marcus
wins. Marcus gives second immunity to… Sugar.

TC7 -Ace voted out
(3-2), 11 left. TC8 -Dan voted out
(4-3), 10 left.
Day 22
(July 14)
Ep.8 fake merge/ second swap
Both tribes receive treemail promising food at the
beach. Given that it's now Day 22, everyone
concludes this is most likely the merge feast. Upon
arriving and seeing the food, there's a closed box
on the table, with a note saying the feast is over
as soon as they open the box. So everyone eats.
After an idol excursion (Kenny spies the note under
the box, is caught, everyone reads it, Randy finds
it), they finally open the box. The first note
instructs everyone to draw rocks from a bag. The
second tells them they've swapped: rocks with odd
numbers go to one tribe, even numbers to the other.
Nobody is pleased.
During the feast, Ken sees a note tucked under the
mysterious box, with the word "immunity" showing. He
tries to grab it undetected, but is quickly caught.
Charlie reads it alongside him, so he decides to let
the whole group see it. Randy quickly identifies the
spot where the idol is hidden from the clue, and
digs it up in seconds. He places it on the table,
says anyone can take it if they want. All decline,
so as not to look like a snake. As the Kota six have
a majority in the group of ten, he and Marcus
propose throwing the idol into the ocean, so that
nobody is tempted to take it. They follow through.
Randy declares himself King of Gabon for this, two
days before Marcus is voted out.
Contestants must hold up a pole with the back of
each hand, pressing the poles against an overhead
beam. Challenge lasts as long as each tribe has
someone is still in. Results: 10.Crystal out (1
sec), 9.Sugar (10 sec), 8.Susie, 6-tie.Randy &
Corinne, 5.Kenny, 4.Marcus, 3.Charlie, 2.Bob,
1.Matty wins (for Fang). Technically a tribal
challenge, but one that appears individual.
Corinne sits out.Tribes must use a large slingshot
to fire "golf" balls on a giant course. Fewest
number of shots per hole wins a point. Best two out
of three wins an overnight getaway trip to a local
village with a feast, dancing. For Fang, Matty/Randy
shoot, trade of holding slingshot side with Charlie.
Sugar literally does nothing. For Kota, Bob shoots
long/Ken short, Crystal/Susie hold the slingshot,
Ken anchors Susie. Results... Hole 1: Kota wins,
with 3 (Fang 3+). Hole 2: Fang wins, with 3 (Kota
3+). Hole 3: Fang wins, with 4 (Kota 4+). Fang wins
reward, Bob exiled.
Super-basic firemaking challenge, as in F4
tiebreakers, but with nine people, and for
individual immunity. Make a fire with flint and
steel, burn through a rope. All is provided. Susie
is the first to make a flame, then Sugar. 1.Susie
wins, 2. Sugar. Rest tied for third, no flame.

and tells Randy to screw off for the other. In the
end, it's a tight vote, with Bob winning 4-3 over
Susie. Sugar receives no jury votes.
