Ep.1 RC: Crate Improvisation

Tribes must toss a raft into the water and load it with as many supplies as they can in a short amount of time, then jump in and push the raft to shore, hauling it up onto the beach. Then they must build a fire tall enough to burn through a rope, dropping a set of camp supplies. First tribe to do so wins the supplies, plus what's on their raft. Caletón takes an early lead on the swimming and has fire first, but their fire collapses mid-challenge, and La Nena wins. They also receive flint, PLUS what's on Caletón's raft

Then two people at a time must dive in and swim out to release three crates, pull them onto the raft. Once all three are retrieved, they head back to shore. There, they must use the keys to unlock the crates, releasing pieces of bamboo, which they must stack around a pole, building a tower. First tribe to build a tower higher than the colored line on the pole wins. Results: It's even up to the diving portion. Lee/Pegleg and Matthew/Tinuke return the first crates well, but Sabrina/Rach struggle with their knots, and Laurence/Jess and Shai/Matthew pass them, giving Caletón a massive lead. Eventually Sabrina swaps out for Christopher, and Pegleg/Doug retrieve the third crate, but Caletón has their tower all but finished. Each tribe is told to select one person to send off on a hike. Caletón selects Laurence, Ren goes for La Nena. Each arrives at the Outpost separately, and faces a dilemma: Choose one of (1) A large fish for the tribe, (2) a smaller fish, plus a clue to an idol they must share with one other person, or (3) a tiny baked potato, plus an idol clue they can keep for themselves. Laurence thinks for a few seconds, takes the large fish. He tells his tribe exactly what the choices were. Ren thinks about it more carefully, takes option (2), shares the clue with Doug, while not telling the whole truth about the choices. Later at the IC, Christopher asks Laurence about the choices, and gets the correct story.
