Non-VFB is voting for someone other than the person booted. Think of this as the Tribal Council futility index. To be fair, when we score VFB, we don't give credit for taking the wrong option in an intentional vote-split, but those are the breaks. Still, to truly rack up non-VFB totals, you really have to make a concerted effort, whether it be repeatedly trying and failing to target the majority's leader when you're down in the numbers, or just being completely oblivious as to where the numbers lie. For the career numbers, persistence is key. Keith Nale only managed the second- and third-most single-season non-VFB totals, but together, he's vastly surpassed Eddie Fox's one-hit wonder. The career totals also include a lot of people who won a long string of individual immunities, which apparently gave them the freedom to just throw their votes away, willy-nilly. To each their own.

Important notes:

• As with VFB, re-votes after a tie don't count as votes. Only the first vote does. Although if you vote for the wrong person on a vote split, enjoy your non-VFB consolation prize.
• Note that getting voted out yourself counts as a non-VFB event. So Ozzy significantly increased his career total by getting voted out three times in South Pacific.
• Fun "new era" rule clarification: Playing your Shot in the Dark counts as casting a wrong vote (you're choosing not to vote). So yay for that.

• Non-VFB: Non-votes For Bootee. The number of times the contestant has not voted for the person who was ultimately voted out. Applies only to initial votes (no points for revotes in case of a tie).
• TCA: Tribal council appearances. The number of times a contestant has attended tribal council (at which they voted).
• TC%: Tribal Council percent. Attempts to reward voting for the bootee (which players controlling the vote almost always do), while punishing receiving votes yourself. The formula is: TC% = [VFB - (VAP/TotV)] / TCA.
