Episode 3 scoring notes
- The RC ... or was it multiple RCs? This kind of
challenge often films more bouts than are needed, and airs
just the ones that are interesting. Also, there's a single
prize for the winning tribe. This time, however, each bout
produced a reward item for the person/tribe who won. That's
more of a hero RC, or more accurately, five consecutive hero
RCs. As it worked out, it was a 2-2 tie heading into the
final bout, which had both protein supplements and an IC
advantage as the prize. If Zamba had swept the first 4
bouts, would this fifth bout still have been held? Was it
always going to five bouts? (If so, why do this with nine
people per tribe?) Did the advantage always go to the fifth
bout winner? It's hard to know. Regardless, it looks like
four people per tribe did not participate, and two people
per tribe did not compete in the IC (Thoriso, Qieän,
Santoni appeared in neither challenge). Anyway ... we've
scored both challenges as traditional tribal challenges, so
nobody officially "sat out," even though some clearly did,
and the incremental prizes in the RC really suggest it was a
sequential hero RC, not a tribal one.
