Detailed complete episode spoiler, from the 24
Insider:
"At
CTU, the analysts are working up Marwan’s identity and they learn that his real name is Harris
Barnes. Harris
has been an employee of McLennan-Forster for several years
and while he worked for the defense company he set up a large
network of “sleeper cells”, among them was the
Araz family. Across the city, Marwan continues to evade CTU
and he meets up with one of his associates in a back alley
somewhere in Los Angeles. The man Marwan meets has long shaggy
hair but he is pretty mysterious to me and I don’t
have much on him. Marwan tells him that the Americans
found the over-ride and that he can’t go with the man right
now. The only major thing they reveal is that they talk about
the “next stage” but they don’t
reveal anything about what that next stage might be but it
does
seem like the guy in the alley will play a larger role. At
the IDS building, we learn that Paul Raines has yet another
connection to Marwan and the connection is that Paul helped
design the computer systems at McLennen-Forster. Paul
offers to help Jack out because he knows backdoors
into the system and Jack will eventually agree to let him
tag-along to McLennan-Forster.
Audrey leaves the IDS systems building and
an Agent escorts her back to CTU. Audrey tells Jack to take
care of Paul.
Back at CTU, Maya’s suicide has a
massive effect on
Director Driscoll and she is having trouble
leading the unit and her demeanor is drastically different.
Driscoll seems
like she is in her own little world and she can’t keep
her mind on the investigation. Heller sees this and tells
her to go home. Driscoll doesn’t want to leave but
Secretary Heller doesn’t really give her a choice.
Driscoll gets her things and all the employees
watch as she leaves CTU and Tony Almeida assumes
command on a temporary
basis. It should be noted that Curtis isn’t
a big Tony Almeida fan and he has problems taking orders
from a traitor
and Curtis thinks he should be in charge but they are able
to put there differences aside. Meanwhile, President Keeler
(who is still of course aboard Air Force One) is briefed
by Secretary Heller on McLennen-Forster and what CTU’s
next move entails. At McLennen-Forster John Reiss,
the President of the company is being briefed by his top
advisors. Reiss
learns that he has been employing a terrorist and he knows
that if the news gets out his company would be in ruins and
put under Federal investigation. Reiss and his shadowy corporate
thugs aren’t going to stand back and wait for their
empire to fall so they plan to cover up their
involvement…this
will call for a drastic measure, this drastic measure is
nothing short of a terrorist attack.
Jack and Paul Raines arrive at
McLennan-Forster and Paul accesses
a computer. Paul gets through the backdoors but
he fails to realize that the McLennen-Forster thugs are watching
his every move. The men in the CEO’s office are still
working on the cover-up and they are planning something very
unique that will happen in just moments. The order for the
attack is put in but it will take a few minutes for it to
be operational. Jack notices that some of
the electronic equipment is acting up and he knows something
is wrong. Jack
can’t use his cell phone to contact CTU so he uses
some sort of instant messaging device and he contacts Tony.
At CTU they work up the possible causes of the electronic
malfunctions and they learn that McLennan-Forster has a unique
device on its 13th floor. They notify Jack of the
device and Jack rushes to shut it down. Jack takes down some
security guards that are protecting it and he tries to disable
the device. Jack’s efforts are not enough. BOOM !!!!!!!!
A massive electromagnetic pulse is activated and the EMP
takes out all the electricity within an 8 block radius. Jack
is now in a completely dark building and he takes out his
flash light and begins to look for Paul. Meanwhile one of
the men from the CEO’s office goes downstairs to try
and silence Paul. The episode ends as Heller, Sarah and Tony
talk about Division sending over a replacement. Heller thanks
Tony for helping out and he tells him that Division is sending
over Deputy Director Dessler. Tony is shocked but he doesn’t
have time to say much because just then Michelle
arrives."
