Excerpts from Steve W's official bio page (7/31/18):
"Known all over Australia as the ‘Commando,’ Steve is one of the country’s most recognized and respected fitness experts. For six consecutive years, he was a key trainer on TEN’s family entertainment program The Biggest Loser. ...
Steve has four kids, including one with his current partner, fellow television personality and fitness trainer Michelle Bridges. While he may be a tough guy, living without his family will test Steve’s willpower.
“I love my family more than anything. Leaving them is going to be the hardest part of this whole experience for sure. I believe I can handle the game, I can handle the physical challenges and I think I’ll get along with everyone as well but not having contact with my family is going to be very, very tough.”
Joining the army in the 1990s, Steve started in the infantry before joining the special forces. He left the army in 2004 and got involved in Crossfit becoming a trainer. In 2009, he came 4th in the World Crossfit Games out of 75 male competitors who are among the best in the world.
With all his qualifications in the fitness world, Steve is ready to take on his next adventure.
“Survivor is the ultimate. It’s physical, it’s mental and it’s hard because you have to play dirty to win. I’m going to play as honest a game as I can but I know that it won’t be an easy win but it’s one that I want to win.” "
