Performance ranks are a quick visual measure of the contestant's season vs. historical data from all prior contestants, in three basic (scorable) categories:
1. Performance in individual challenges (MPF), as a measure of "physical game";
2. Ability to vote people out consistently (VFB%, or VFB/TCA), or "strategic game"; and
3. Ability to avoid being voted against (rVAP, or TCA-VAP) - which scales better than a percentage would - for "social/strategic game."

Official Ten AU: Brains v Brawn bio excerpts (July 11, 2021):
"A self-proclaimed golden child, Simon has always been exceptionally good at everything he puts his mind to. A recent career change saw him pack up his desk job and pick up the tools to become an apprentice Carpenter. An ex-bodybuilder, Simon is still dedicated to training hard and maintaining his ripped physique and brute force."
Official Ten AU: Heroes v Villains bio excerpts (December 22, 2022):
"As the first person in Australian Survivor to be blindsided with two Idols before Merge, Simon is leaving the Outback behind and is back for redemption. He says, “It was pretty tough failing last time, it took a lot to swallow but I let my arrogance and my ego get in the way and this time I am determined to play a very different game and to keep my ego in check.”
Recently married, Simon is excited to get a second chance and says after being voted out in Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn, it has made him reconsider his game play.
“My strength coming into this season has to be my self-awareness. It’s taken a lot of self-reflection to get to where I am now after what I went through and I’m going to use that to my advantage. My biggest fear coming into this game is going home with another Idol, it is something I’ve thought about for a long time and it haunts me and I’m absolutely terrified of ending up with one and not playing it correctly.”
As a natural leader in the real world, Simon wants to step back from that and embrace his dark side, saying, “As a Villain, you thrive in the chaos, you get your hands dirty and you really bring Survivor to life because without Villains, this game would be so boring. I’m pumped to be a Villain because last time I tried to play as a Hero and look how that went for me. This time I can really unleash my full potential.”"
Official Ten SurvivorAU: Redemption bio excerpts (2/20/26):
"The term Redemption holds a special and significant place for Survivor returnee Simon.
At the Brisbane home he shares with wife and daughter, Simon, 35, lives with the reminders of his Survivor experience.
“Every day I wake up, I have a couple of things on my bookshelf that remind me just how much I failed in this game. Two idols, and the remnants of a cookie idol. They keep me up at night and remind me of just how badly I have been outplayed in this game.”
In Brains v Brawns, Simon became the first Australian player to have his torch snuffed with two idols in his back pocket. It ignited a fire to return, but in Heroes v Villains, he incorrectly identified a clue in a cookie jar as an idol, wreaking havoc on his game. As Simon admits, “it was an absolute masterclass in how not to play Survivor”.
But motivated to prove he has what it takes to win, Simon has returned to pick up the pieces and rise from the ashes.
“Statistically, I'm one of the worst players to ever play Australian Survivor, which means that redemption means so much to me.”
And with 67 days of Survivor under his belt, he dreams not only of making it to 100, but taking his fight to the very last Tribal Council.
“My biggest strength in Survivor is my resilience. I can turn up every single day, rain, hail or shine, with a smile on my face, a positive attitude, and bring up the people around me. And in a game where everything is pushing you down, that might just be enough to help me get through.”"
