Based on the frequent charge that we are just too negative around here, we've decided to set a precedent for happy, inclusive, uniter-not-a-divider rhetoric, by compiling a list of Things Which Don't Suck.  We envisioned this is as a rapidly-changing, frequently-updated list, which takes into account our reader's suggestions.  So far, this has meant you'll be lucky to see it change more than once a month, and it currently reflects entirely our overworked staff's opinions.

E-mail your suggestions to: truedorktimes@truedorktimes.com if you think a different strategy should be in order.

These are a few of our semi-favorite things, in no particular order.

1. The continuing controversy over the Olympic Pairs Figure Skating
Psst... if you need judges to determine a winner, it's not really a sport.  And don't get us started on "Ice Dancing".

2. The "Pet Psychic" on Animal Planet
True, the Discovery Channel is getting a little more brazen in their attempt to replace the world of science with magic and mysticism, but still...  somebody actually thought this was a good programming idea.  And got paid for it!

3. The Chicago Cubs might actually win their division this year
Okay, we don't really believe that.  Or at least we won't until October 1st or so.  But good young pitching, Sammy Sosa's hitting, and two months or so of a healthy Moises Alou might even be enough to overcome Don Baylor's managing, the departure of Oscar Acosta, and 57 years (and counting) of bad luck.  Holy cow!

4. Samuel Smith's Tadcaster Ale
Mmm... good.

5. The Midwest
Continuing to selflessly drain winter storms of their rain, sleet and snow before they reach the East Coast.  Thanks!

6. Eminem's 8 Mile, Britney Spears' Crossroads and Mandy Moore's A Walk To Remember
Maybe we're being overly optimistic here, but we're hoping there's a chance one of these will tank miserably, the way Mariah Carey's Glitter did, forcing the respective label to cut their losses and sever ties to the "artist" in question.  Hey, there's a precedent now!
