| Know
someone who was a contestant on Survivor 16: Micronesia? |

| Contestant-related press and rumors |
January 5 , 2008: CBS eventually gets around
to putting up their Survivor: Micronesia site,
which includes Kathleen's bio (below):
"Kathleen SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA
Age: 45
Home Town: Wheaton, IL
Occupation: Golf Course Concessions
Born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Kathleen Sleckman currently
works at a golf course in Illinois where she moves about
selling thirsty golfers snacks and beer. She previously worked
as a bartender, computer graphics artist and a plumber in
the Seabees with the United States Navy. She attended St.
Paul's Catholic Grade School, Manitowoc Lincoln High School
and the U.W. Extension Program in Manitowoc.
Sleckman has
lived in Port Hueneme, California, Pacific Beach, Washington,
Agana, Guam (for military service) and Oxnard, California.
She describes herself as intellectually astute, sarcastically
witty and a tad bit shallow. Her hero is Max Factor as, without
his invention of make-up, she would be a veritable shut-in.
She believes her excellent puzzle-solving skills, athleticism,
knowledge of outdoor survivor skills and ability to motivate
others will help her go far on Survivor.
Sleckman resides
in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, with her husband, Rick, their six-year-old
child, Maddison, and their dog, Wilson Von Barkypants Goldendoodle.
Her birth date is August 14, 1962."

January 3, 2008: Entertainment
Weekly (mostly Dalton Ross) handles the cast-release
chores for Survivor: Micronesia. Included is Kathy's pre-show
interview and Probst's comments:
"THE ROOKIES: KATHLEEN SLECKMAN
AGE: 45
OCCUPATION: Golf course vendor
HOMETOWN: Glen Ellyn, Ill.
KATHLEEN SAYS: Sleckman's ideal
alliance? ''I'm tending to look for misfits, people who are
psychologically or emotionally damaged, like myself.''
JEFF
PROBST SAYS: ''We almost put Kathy on Vanuatu and we didn't.
It's one thing to have a positive attitude, it's another
to survive 39 days eating some rice, clams, and an occasional
fish. I think Kathy's going to be tested enormously, and
the longer she lasts, the tougher it's going to be unless
she can embrace it. It's not an easy season out there. It
rained almost every night we were there, and if you get sent
to Exile, it can be brutal."

December
23, 2007: MayanSun (SurvivorFever)
fills in the missing details on Kathy's identity:
"Kathy's last name is Sleckman, her maiden name is Behnke
(Kathy B.). Not sure which she'll be using on the show." (SurvivorFever
also had her location listed as Glen Ellyn, IL at the time).

December 16, 2007: CBS
shows clips of the non-All Star contestants in their preview
of S16/ Survivor: Micronesia. Kathy's blurb and images:
Kathy: "I've watched every episode..."
Note: On December 17th, MayanSun (SurvivorFever)
made a follow-up post, matching Kathy's picture (below) with
the name. she'sasweetie, apparently a friend of Kathy's, later
added a confirmatory post.

December 3, 2007: Someone named CobySucks
reveals the following at SurvivorSucks's S16+ forum:
"Like i said i will NOT spoil the actual game but i don't
think cast spoilers ruins anything. here are some names i have
found out and this is all I know about them at this point...
Mary-fake tits
Mikey B- LA guy
Truck- new Rupert type/big guy
Curt- works for Miss America/Universe
and then there is supposedly another older
lady who goes kind
of whacko and tries to cut her fingers off with a machette????"
And another
post, later that same day:
"I have then been giving the rest of the cast list from very
very very good sources so I will mark this 99%... Joel, a
fireman, Kathy, Mary (fake tits), Natalie, Alexis and Tracy."

December, 2007: Reunion.com's search engine
brings up one listing for a Kathleen Sleckman (maiden name
Behnke):
"Kathleen Sleckman (Behnke)
Lincoln Senior High School
45 years old
Glen Ellyn, IL"
(Sucks poster North09 also noted this here).
Among
other Google-related listings, Kathy and her husband have been
fairly dependable Republican campaign
donors over the last
few election cycles.
Plus, on August 7th, 2007, Zay
N. Smith published a comment
from Kathy in a column: "I was leafing through a catalog the
other day when I read a description of the Gaia walking shoe.
It can be ordered in two colors: 'red' or 'anthracite.' When
did black become anthracite, and when can we have black back?"
Apparently Kathy didn't get the memo that anthracite is the
new black.
