someone who was a contestant on Survivor 16: Micronesia?
|Contestant-related press and rumors
January 5 , 2008: CBS eventually gets around
to putting up their Survivor: Micronesia site,
which includes Jon's heavily updated/exaggerated bio (below):
"Jonny Fairplay SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS
Home Town: Danville, VA
Occupation: Professional Wrestler/Reality Star
Originally from Danville, Virginia, Jon Dalton attended George
Washington High School followed by college at Virginia Polytechnic
Institute in Blacksburg. After college, he moved to Washington,
D.C. and Portland, Oregon before settling in Los Angeles.
burst onto the reality TV scene with the help of his best
friend, Thunder D, and the infamous 'Dead Grandma' deception
on Survivor: Pearl Islands, on which he was the
breakout star (and rated as the #2 television moment in E!'s
101 Most Outrageous TV Moments). He has continued
to excel as one of the more memorable faces of reality TV
and professional wrestling and signed a contract with TNA
Wrestling, combining for the first time the reality television
and wrestling genres. He went on to win an ESPY Award for
best non-sports sports moment by being body slammed over
the top rope by Chicago Bears All-Pro player Brian Urlacher.
From Howard Stern to Tyra
Banks, Jack & Ron & Fez to Living
It Up with Allie, Dalton has made numerous memorable
radio and TV appearances.
In the reality genre, Dalton has
continued to deliver some of the most memorable moments on
television. His MTV True
Life is the highest-rated episode in the history of
the series. On Celebrity Poker Showdown, he 'Fairplayed'
his longtime friend Trishelle Canatella by eliminating her
from the game. On A&E's Inked he was kicked
out of the tattoo Parlor. On Reality
Stars Fear Factor he
ousted Jonathan Baker and Victoria Fuller and went on to
become the first contestant in the history of the show to
return after his eviction to serve as co-host. Dalton again
shocked the world when he was on the Summer 2005 Kill
Reality, in which he supplied this show with an endless
string of memorable moments. He also delivered an inspired
performance as DQ in the 2005 motion picture, 'The Scorned,'
which was spawned from Kill Reality. All these
memorable appearances have resulted in Dalton receiving The
Most Memorable Reality Star in the History of Reality Television
honor at the Really Awards on Fox Reality.
date is March 11, 1974."
January 3, 2008: Entertainment
Weekly (mostly Dalton Ross) handles the cast-release
chores for Survivor: Micronesia. Included is Jon's pre-show
interview and Probst's comments:
"THE RETURNING FAVORITES: JON DALTON (A.K.A. JONNY
SEASON: Survivor: Pearl Islands
JONNY SAYS: ''I'm either the
first one out or the last one here.''
JEFF PROBST SAYS: "You
can't do the season and not invite your most notorious person.
And Fairplay delivered, I will say that. He delivered, and
I think we got what we expected we would get, which is that
character he created called Jonny Fairplay. What gets me
is just how effective it can still be. He can call you stupid
and somebody will get mad. And I'm looking at this going,
'Why are you getting mad at this guy? He's created a character,
he's trying to get under your skin — and it's working!'
This guy is no threat to win this game — zero.""
September 5 , 2003: Jon's pre-game explanation
of his "strategy."
pre-game (S7) video profile
have several plans. Number one, my philosophy is DTA - don't
trust anybody. Like, a lot of people forget that this is
a game, and I, you know, fully intend to remind myself on
a daily basis that it is a game. I've been preparing for
this. Like, you know, once I knew I was going to be a Survior,
like uh, I went, I became PADI certified skin diver. I've
been uh, running, uh, at running canyon on a daily basis,
I've been fattening up, I’ve been on the uh, crappy
food. Oh, I plan on being the first survivor to have sex
on the island, hopefully with another person. No, I'm looking
for a, how do the French say, ménage-e-trois? I’m
looking for a ménage-e-cuatro, or cinco, or... I don't
know, I don't speak French, I just kiss it. But uh, yeah,
no, I’m planning on loving the ladies, and the guys
will like me because I give them scraps."

leadership ability, has a strong work ethic and doesn't leave
things unfinished. His birth date is March 11, 1974."

poster Sweeper comes up with a potential
- LA Art Gallery Employee
I know of a guy who works at Robert Bane Editions (rbeditions.com)
who just got back from being a contestant on Survivor.
A friend of mine works with him at the gallery. He
doesn't know much about the game but was handpicked
by producers when they saw him pumping gas one day
in LA. Apparently, he's kind of a know-it-all that
likes to "drop names." Sounds like a real
hateable guy. He's in his early thirties. Didn't find
out if he came back having lost weight or what. But
I'm going to keep prodding. I'll try to find out his
...and later (on 8/20/03):
to my friend again
I talked with my friend last night. Apparently, they
have been "warned" not to talk about Survivor
any more because the leak has gotten back to CBS and
they are not happy that this participant has blabbed.
My source seems pretty worried that if he/she gives
out any more morsels of info, that she/he could be
busted (whatever that means), alas, he/she won't give
up names or even give me any notion of the contidion
of the guy. More than anything, this tells me that
the contestant from the art gallery is a sure thing.
